Responsibility for Technological Development by Discourse

This article takes a look at the relationship between technology and responsibility. The sometimes catastrophic results of technology have led to demands for the assumption of responsibility for technological development. Assuming responsibility can be realized individually, through technology assessment or through societal measures, I introduce a concept of responsibility based on discourse ethics which may be helpful in questions concerning the implementation of responsibility for technology.
